Bachelor of Social Work Admissions
Admissions Process
All prospective B.S.W students must follow the admission requirement below. Admission to the B.S.W. program is a multi-step process.
Step 1: Students should contact the department to set up an advising appointment.
Step 2: Once you complete the Pre-Social Work requirements you will receive an email to access the online B.S.W. application via InPlace Student Platform. Please read carefully and complete all sections of the online social work application.
Pre-Social Work Requirements
- “C” or better in SWK 2307 (Introduction of Social Work)
- A completed resume*
- 20 clock hours of volunteer experience*
- A personal narrative*
- At least 30 semester hours if completed college work
- Completion of core education curriculum
- A 2.00 GPA on college work taken at ASU
- A 2.50 GPA on any previously taken social work courses
*Will be completed as part of ASU’s Introduction of Social Work course. If you are a transfer student, you must provide these items before joining our program.
