Minor in Social Work

Our minor in social work is grounded in the person-to-environment prospective.

Courses in the minor provide you with an understanding of people who may require social services.

Our courses complement today’s outcome-based social service environment. You will study:

Required Courses

The social work minor consists of 18 credit hours, including these required courses in social work (SWK):

You will also choose nine credit hours from any social work (SWK) advanced electives courses.

Of those 18 credit hours, at least six hours from the upper-level course options listed above are required in residence. A minimum grade of “C” is required in all social work courses counted toward the minor. A split or dual minor is not available in social work.
