Safety and Risk Management
Angelo State University is committed to providing a safe environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. The Office of Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management is responsible for administering the following programs pursuant to this goal:
- Risk Management – University insurance, driver approval and training, risk assessment and consultation, compliance and reporting
- Emergency Management – Emergency planning and preparedness, business continuity, disaster recovery, training, exercises and drills, incident management
- Environmental Health – Storm water management, recycling, waste and hazardous materials management
- Community Safety – General, fire, life, facilities, laboratory and occupational safety
Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management is to protect people, the environment, property, and financial and other resources in support of the university’s mission and reputation. This is accomplished by:
- Understanding the needs and priorities of the university community and partnering with key stakeholders
- Providing quality services in a professional and responsive manner
- Developing materials and resources to provide guidance to the university community
- Providing education through training and consultation
- Assisting the university with regulatory compliance by identifying opportunities to improve the safety of the campus community
