Technology Service Center

Your Account
Every employee is given a Technology Access Account, which consists of a username (usually your first initial and last name, possibly followed by a number) and a password. Your account is used to log in to your office computer, connect to WiFi, access network drives, log into RamPort, email, and more. To obtain your username, please call the Service Center. You will need to provide your campus ID number for verification purposes.
MyPassword is a service that allows you to manage your ASU password easily.
RamPort is ASU’s student and employee web portal. Log in with your username and password at ramport.angelo.edu to access employee records, documents, services, and more. While you are there, set up ASUAlert for emergency notifications on your devices. Learn more at angelo.edu/asualert.
Banner is ASU’s student and employee information management system. If you need access to Banner, your supervisor will need to fill out the Request for Access to Banner form available at

Blackboard is the software you will use in most of your courses for assignments, quizzes, discussions, grades, and more. Learn more about how to use Blackboard and other learning tools on our eLearning site.

Other software is available at discounted rates through the ASU bookstore.
You will notice that many of our doors can be unlocked via an access reader located near the door. In some cases, departments will handle this access internally. In other cases, you will need to complete the CS Gold Door Access Request form in order to gain access to the door(s) in question.
P Drive - Students, faculty, and staff have access to personal storage space on the P drive of the ASU network. This data is backed up nightly. Even if you use an external disk, we highly recommend you save a backup copy of your information to the network drive.
J Drive - a network location commonly used by professors as a place to store classroom-related work.
Q Drive - (Department Drive) is a network storage location associated with the employee’s department, typically used for sharing files internally with other users in your department.
R Drive (Everyone Drive) - is a network storage location that all faculty and staff can access.

Duo Security or “Duo” enhances the protection and security of campus information systems by requiring users to complete a second form of authentication using their mobile device and username and password. For more information, please visit the Duo Security page.

Email
All employees are given an ASU email account for University use. Your email address is typically your firstname.lastname@angelo.edu. Your email password is the same as your technology access account.
Your office computer will be set up with Microsoft Outlook. To set up email on other devices, refer to the Email Guides at angelo.edu/employee-email.
All employees should use the approved ASU signature when corresponding via email. For instructions and a template for setting up your signature, visit angelo.edu/signatures.
ASU provides anti-spam services to all employees. Some unwanted emails can still make it to users, though. Learn more about unwanted emails and additional tools to deal with them at angelo.edu/spam.
To keep your email account and the university safe, you should also understand the risks and signs of phishing attempts. Learn more at angelo.edu/phishing.
ASU provides several lists for emailing the campus community. These lists are moderated and reserved for ASU-related topics. For mailing list addresses, guidelines, and best practices, refer to angelo.edu/mailing-lists.
Phones
On Campus employees are provided a Cisco network phone that can be managed using the Cisco Portal page. All employees have the ability to access WiFi, email and other ASU apps via their mobile device(s)
Your office is equipped with a Cisco phone. Instructions for using your phone, including setting up a personal address book, fast dials, call forwarding, voicemail, and more, can be found at angelo.edu/phones.
