Complete the following steps to make your transition into the Ram Family as seamless as possible. You may have already completed some of these steps if you recently attended ASU.
Set up Your Technology Access Account
After you apply for admission, you will receive an email at the address provided on your application. This email contains the information needed to set up your ASU User Account. If you ever need assistance in regards to technology on campus, please contact the IT Service Center at 325-942-2911 or visit our resource page.
Once you set up your account, you will gain access to RamPort, our internal web portal. Through RamPort, you will have access to content, tools and services most relevant to you.
Submit Your Final Transcripts.
If you attended an institution since you last enrolled at Angelo State, request a copy of your final official transcript. Your previous institution may either provide you a hard copy in a sealed envelope or send it electronically. Electronic transcripts are preferred and can allow for faster processing for updating your transfer courses. For security reasons, do not email transcripts.
If you need help finding out how to order your official transcript, please visit our transcript resource page for more information and links to order transcripts from Texas colleges and universities.
Get Advised and Register for Classes
Connect with your advisor to register for classes. Advisors are able to advise students over the phone and via email.
Once you’ve been advised, you’ll register using RamPort. Visit the Academic Calendar for the registration date for returning students. You are encouraged to register as soon as registration opens, as courses will fill up quickly. For more information, contact the Registrar’s Office at 325-942-2043.
Submit a Housing Application
Deciding where you’re going to live is a crucial component of your college success. If you choose to live on campus, complete your Housing Application as soon as possible. Contact Admissions if you have any questions about housing requirements.

Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online to be considered for grants, loans and Work Study. We also offer more than 270 general scholarships not tied to specific degree programs. Submit a General Scholarship Application to be eligible. Complete Required Trainings
As part of maintaining a safe and healthy community, we require all incoming students to complete two trainings: Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates and Alcohol EDU. Information on how to complete these trainings will be sent to your email address.
Get Your ASU OneCard and Parking Permit
The ASU OneCard is your official student ID. You’ll need it to use your meal plan, access your residence hall, and participate in various student events and activities. If you plan to bring a vehicle to campus, you’ll need to purchase a parking permit.
Pay Your Bill
Payment is due before the semester begins and can be paid via cash, check, money order or credit card. Save time and avoid long lines by paying your bill online through RamPort.
Download the ASU Mobile App
ASU Mobile is your one-stop shop for all things ASU. You can add/drop classes, view and pay your bill, access your email, find your way around campus, and so much more!
