How to Apply for Financial Aid

  1. Apply for the FAFSA

First things first, make sure you fill out the FAFSA. You’ll need to get a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID). The FAFSA opens each year on Oct. 1, with a priority review date of Jan. 15.
    ASU’s FAFSA Code: 003541

  2. Fill out the General Scholarship Application

In addition to the ASU Distinguished Scholarship, we also offer more than 400 general scholarships. To be eligible, you must submit the General Scholarship Application, available Oct. 1 every year on RamPort. Yes, you read that right - one application gives you access to 500 potential scholarships!

Complete the application by Jan. 15 to have a better chance of being selected for a scholarship.
  3. Other Forms

In some cases, additional forms may be required for the FAFSA, or if you intend to apply for other aid programs, such as the Texas Application for State Financial Aid.

After applying for financial aid, you’ll be notified of your award and finalize it.
