General ASU Scholarships

We offer more than 350 scholarships to new and currently enrolled students that are not tied to a specific degree program.

The ASU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships offers general university scholarships of varying amounts. Students receiving scholarships are required to attend school full time. Unless otherwise stated in the scholarship description, students apply for the scholarships listed below by completing the ASU General Scholarship Application found on RamPort.

How to Apply

The application opens Oct. 1 with a priority date of Jan. 15.

  1. Log in to RamPort.
  2. Click on the Paying for College > Financial Aid & Scholarships page.
  3. Click “Apply for ASU Scholarships.”

In the event that the ASU men’s baseball program is discontinued, funds from the endowment will be redirected to ASU’s nursing program.

    Eligibility To be awarded to a foster student at Angelo State. Donor will increase the award to $2,000 per semester if the student retains a 3.0 or higher.

    Eligibility The scholarship is to be awarded to a student who is a member of the Association of Mexican-American Students (AMAS) or any similar serving organization.  Recipient of the scholarship should have a minimum 2.75 grade point average.

    Eligibility To a deserving graduate assistant that has a strong desire to support the athletic program. Two applicants per year will be selected by the Angelo State University Athletic Director. After the Dr. Robert H. and Jean Ann LeGrand Graduate Assistantships have been awarded, the remainder of the balance will then be used for scholarships in the athletic department.

    Eligibility The scholarships are to be awarded to deserving students who have a strong desire to succeed and are awarded based on this criteria:
    1. Must be full-time freshmen students who meet regular admission requirements.
    2. Must be graduates from area high schools.
    3. Must have graduated in the top 50 percent of their graduating classes.

    General Statement: A $1 million endowment fund established by Dr. Robert LeGrand and his wife, Jean Ann, provides scholarships for entering freshmen from area communities within a 150-mile radius of San Angelo.  The generous scholarship endowment was established as an expression of appreciation to Dr. LeGrand’s many patients from these area communities.
