Texas Leadership Scholars Application Process
Take the first step toward free college and leadership development.
Eligibility Criteria

Must be TEXAS Grant eligible.
TEXAS Grant eligibility is based on information entered on the FAFSA.

Be a graduating high school senior from an accredited Texas high school.

Demonstrate academic excellence.

Show evidence of leadership and service in your high school and community.

Admitted to Angelo State University.
Once admitted to the program, you must maintain TEXAS Grant eligibility, full-time enrollment, a minimum GPA of 2.5 and meet program requirements.
Application Process
After you apply to Angelo State, follow these steps to begin the Texas Leadership Scholars application process.
Applications for each fall cohort open on Nov. 1 and close on Feb. 15.

Be nominated by a staff member from your high school.
A staff member could be your guidance counselor, teacher, principal or administrator.
High school staff members can request the application on the Texas Leadership Scholars Program website. Once the request is approved, you’ll receive the application to the Texas Leadership Scholars program via email.

Provide your high school GPA and basic information.

Self-assess your leadership skills, and share your community leadership experiences.
You’ll be asked to provide short responses explaining how you have been a leader in your community. -
Rank Angelo State in your top three potential participating schools.
Apply to Angelo State and be admitted before completing this step. -
Provide contact information for a high school reference.
A recommendation form will automatically be sent to them upon submission.
