Characteristics of Doctoral Programs

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) requires public and health-related institutions (HRIs) to publish information on their websites regarding the “Characteristics of Texas Public Doctoral Programs” of each doctoral program offered at the institution (refer to Title 19 Texas Administrative Code §5.52).

The Characteristics of Doctoral Programs were developed by the THECB for ongoing evaluation and quality improvement, and “to provide a snapshot of doctoral programs offered by Texas public universities and health-related institutions. The information presented in the Characteristics serves as a reference for the general public who are interested in doctoral education, including prospective students and their families”. For more information please visit the Texas Administrative Code Characteristics of Doctoral Programs webpage.

Angelo State University (ASU) currently offers four doctoral programs ‒ the Doctor of Physical Therapy, the Doctor of Psychology and the Doctor of Social Work in the Archer College of Health and Human Services, and the Doctor of Education in Transformative Leadership in the College of Education.
