Emily Maxey of Phoenix, Ariz., has been selected to receive Angelo State University’s 2023 Presidential Award as the top graduate in her class, while five other ASU graduating seniors have been selected for 2022-23 Distinguished Student Awards from their respective academic colleges.

Biology Honor Society Named Top Chapter in TexasApril 13
Angelo State University’s Epsilon Sigma chapter of the Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) national biological honor society was named the Outstanding Chapter in District 2 for the 2022-23 academic year and also garnered several other prestigious awards at the recent Tri-Beta South Central Regional Convention in Cedar Hill.

Angelo State University undergraduate science majors Garath Vetters of Kingsland, Emily Maxey of Heber, Arizona, and Doyeon Kwon of South Korea all won top prizes for their research presentations at the recent annual meeting of the Texas Academy of Science hosted on the ASU campus.
Angelo State Opens Regional Security Operations CenterJanuary 19
Angelo State University marked the official opening of the state’s first Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) with a ribbon cutting ceremony Jan. 19 at the RSOC site on the second floor of the ASU Vincent Building at 2333 Vanderventer St.
