Physics Student Wins National Scholarship Award
September 26Jaylon Lockett of Missouri City, a sophomore physics major at Angelo State University, has been awarded a $10,000 scholarship for the 2023-24 academic year through the TEAM-UP Together Scholarship Program (TUTSP) that is administered by the national Society of Physics Students.

Class of 2023 Top Graduates
May 2Emily Maxey of Phoenix, Ariz., has been selected to receive Angelo State University’s 2023 Presidential Award as the top graduate in her class, while five other ASU graduating seniors have been selected for 2022-23 Distinguished Student Awards from their respective academic colleges.

Biology Honor Society Named Top Chapter in Texas
April 13Angelo State University’s Epsilon Sigma chapter of the Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) national biological honor society was named the Outstanding Chapter in District 2 for the 2022-23 academic year and also garnered several other prestigious awards at the recent Tri-Beta South Central Regional Convention in Cedar Hill.

Science Students Win State Research Awards
March 13Angelo State University undergraduate science majors Garath Vetters of Kingsland, Emily Maxey of Heber, Arizona, and Doyeon Kwon of South Korea all won top prizes for their research presentations at the recent annual meeting of the Texas Academy of Science hosted on the ASU campus.
