Business Advisory Council
The mission of the Business Advisory Council is to assist the Dean in advancing the mission of the Norris-Vincent College of Business to provide high quality business degree programs to students in West Texas and to promote the economic development of the Concho Valley region. The Council is a purely advisory body to the Dean, with no official governance authority or policy-making responsibility. Specific ways in which Business Advisory Council members assist the Dean include the following:
- Sharing ideas and advice, and making thoughtful recommendations regarding the growth and development of the College
- Helping the College build and maintain strong relationships with its alumni, employers of its graduates, local businesses, and government officials
- Serving as ambassadors, actively endorsing and advocating for the College to help enhance its visibility and reputation in the academic and business communities
- Playing a leadership role in helping the College secure the external financial support needed to accomplish its strategic goals
- Providing internship and employment opportunities for Norris-Vincent College of Business students
- Interacting directly with Norris-Vincent College of Business students by serving as mentors, speaking to classes or student organizations, conducting mock interviews, and attending College special events
