About the ASU Small Business Development Center
The Angelo State University Small Business Development Center was created in 1990 to provide business advising and training services to the ten-county area of the Concho Valley.
Since its beginning, the ASU-SBDC has assisted thousands of area small businesses with free and confidential business advising and business training to better manage their businesses and to help entrepreneurs create new businesses.
Mission & Vision Statement
Our certified business advisors provide advising and training services with a wealth of expertise, including business start-up, planning, and financing, human resources, marketing, government procurement, and more. Their expertise has been gained through business ownership, business management, and education. Our staff also goes through a series of business certifications to enhance their advising skills. We also have a training coordinator who creates events every year and a full-time administrative assistant who provides excellent customer service.
The ASU-SBDC works hand in hand with lenders, government entities, and other area economic development organizations to promote economic well-being for its service area. Some of those partners include: San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, City of San Angelo Development Corporation (COSADC), Concho Valley Workforce Development Board/Texas Workforce Solutions, West Texas Training Center, Downtown San Angelo, Inc., and other area chambers and economic development organizations.
