FAQs

How do I register?
If you have decided that the SBMCP is right for you and would like to enroll, please visit the SBMCP enrollment page and follow the online prompts to set up an account in our online learning platform and complete the payment process.

How do I navigate the online learning platform?
The first lesson of the program provides a brief introduction video on how to navigate the online learning platform. Remember your login and password. This will allow you to log in and pick up where you left off.

How do I pay?
During the enrollment process, you will be prompted to pay the 75$ enrollment fee through our payment processor, PayPal. Please note, you do not need a Paypal account to complete the payment process. Debit and Credit cards are accepted.

When will I receive the information needed to complete the requirements?
The online learning platform houses all of the training sessions required to complete the SBMCP course. You will receive direct access to the training materials upon enrollment. The additional requirements of the Draft Business plan can be completed by visiting with a Certified Business Advisor. Request advising services.

Online or In-Person?
The SBMCP required seminars are all available to view on demand through our online learning portal. We encourage you to also take advantage of our live webinars or face-to-face sessions that are offered through the SBDC to gain additional knowledge and information to support business success.

I’ve already been to a few of the required seminars in person, will they still count?
Yes, any seminar you have attended in the past year will count towards the completion of your certification but all seminars must be completed in a one-year span.

The SBMCP course participants can use some seminars they have previously attended as substitutes but please contact us for more information.

Why can’t I count seminars that I attended more than one year ago?
We don’t count seminars you’ve attended more than a year ago because we want to be sure that the knowledge you have gained is the most up-to-date information.

What if I don’t finish in one year?
Situations are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. If you have been an active participant you may get an extension to complete your requirements. If you are an inactive participant you may have to re-enroll and pay another enrollment fee.

How will I track my progress?
You are responsible for keeping track of and completing all of your requirements. However, if you would like to see a report of your seminar attendance or requirements that you have fulfilled, email sbdctraining@angelo.edu
