    This session will focus on Canva Basics. We will review how to create visually stunning graphics for you to utilize across different platforms.

    Creating graphics for your business can be a daunting task. With the help of Canva you can create many different designs, everything ranging from business cards, social media images, flyers, and more!

  • How to Take Control of Your Cash Flow

    Most business owners stress over their finances. Usually, over payroll, supply chain issues or paying down debt. Most of these worries can be relieved through better cash flow management.

    We will be covering the basics of cash flow management and cash flow forecasting. We’ll use some very basic financial models to do this - no Excel experts are needed! Stop worrying, and take control of your cash flow today.

  • Introduction to Government Contracting

    Learn about registering in the System for Award Management (SAM) and how the government procures goods and services. We will also discuss marketing tips and opportunities for small businesses. We will also explore Federal certifications including the Small Business (SB) Program, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Program, the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program, the 8(a) Business Development Program, the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Program. We will also briefly touch on the Texas HUB and Tx-DOT DBE certification programs.

  • Business Brown Bag: Employee Retention Credit

    The Employee Retention Credit is a fully refundable tax credit for employers equal to 50% of qualified wages (including allocable qualified health plan expenses) that Eligible Employers pay their employees. This Employee Retention Credit applies to qualified wages paid after Mar. 12, 2020, and before Jan. 1, 2021. The maximum amount of qualified wages taken into account with respect to each employee for all calendar quarters is $10,000, so the maximum credit for an Eligible Employer for qualified wages paid to any employee is $5,000.

  • How Small Businesses can Benefit from Hiring Veterans

    The Texas South-West SBDC’s have partnered together to bring you expert content to help your small business grow and succeed. Join us for this partnership event with the Texas Veterans Commission and the Texas South-West SBDC Network to learn more about the many benefits to small businesses that employ veteran workers. In this session, we will discuss the Tax Benefits that Employers can receive by hiring veterans under the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC). The many transferable skills that Veterans have and how they can be applied to help your business succeed, among other useful tools and insight.

    • Skill sets veterans bring to the workforce relating to the resume of a veteran.
    • Programs available for training the veteran workforce.
