Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Exam

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is a professional certification group that certifies professionals in the automotive repair and service industry. It is an independent, non-profit organization created in 1972 in response to consumers needing to distinguish between incompetent and competent automotive technicians. The organization aims to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the testing and certification of repair and service professionals.

Important information regarding MFT and ACAT Remote Proctor testing:

  • You must have a computer equipped with webcam, microphone, and high-speed internet access.
  • You will need a private location, such as bedroom, dorm room or home office, as your testing location.
  • Testing should be done on a PC or Mac on the Chrome browser using a hardwired connection.

Although there is no initial fee for MFT Remote Proctor testing, any student who misses a scheduled remote testing appointment will be responsible for fees associated with rescheduling (Undergraduate MFT Remote Proctor fee is $20.50 and MBA MFT Remote Proctor fee is $30.50).

The ASU Testing Center is a designated site for ASE Certification testing. Registration can be done online at www.myASE.com or by calling Prometric at 1-877-346-9327.
