Student Veterans on Campus 2014: Providing Support & Ensuring Success

July 18 2013 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Hardeman Student Services Center RM 206

With the current draw down of troops, an influx of student vets will likely arrive on campus for the fall 2013 semester.  Is your campus prepared to support these student veterans in pursuit of higher education?

Many barriers and obstacles exist for student vets. Many feel isolated as they struggle to find their place. Others manage mental illness as a result of their experiences overseas. And still others attempt to reintegrate socially and academically into a world that is quite different from where they’ve been. How can we help ensure their success?

Join us for an interactive webinar where we examine current unique trends in student vets services including creating specific veteran areas on campus, establishing ties with the local community, assessment of student veterans, student veterans organizations on campus, campus points of contact for veterans on campus, and more.

We’ll provide the steps to implement similar practices on your own campus.
