“Give More Hugs” Book Signing
Angelo State University’s Honors Student Association (HSA) and Porter Henderson Library will host a Book Signing and Donation Drive on Thursday, April 2, to collect children’s books for the Give More HUGS nonprofit organization.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. on the First Floor of the Porter Henderson Library and is open free to the public. The library is located at 2025 S. Johnson St. on the ASU campus.
HSA members will accept donations of new and gently used children’s books for ages elementary school through pre-teen. They are also soliciting volunteers to write messages inside the books to encourage children to keep reading to cultivate their knowledge and imagination. The book drive will continue until all of the donated books are signed.
Books may be dropped off at the library or in any of the collection bins located in all ASU academic buildings around campus.
Give More HUGS (Helping Unite Giving Souls) was founded in 2013 by ASU alum Christopher McGilvery. Its mission is to provide school supplies, books, educational materials and scholarships for extracurricular activities to children around the world to promote the love for learning, reading and creativity.
