Wind Ensemble Concert: ‘Head Rush’

ASU Auditorium,Mayer Administration Building

The ASU Wind Ensemble will present a free public concert titled “Head Rush” on Monday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the ASU Auditorium located inside the Mayer Administration Building at 2601 W. Ave. N.

Under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Alvis, ASU director of bands and assistant professor of music, the Wind Ensemble will perform:

  • “Head Rush” by Jay Bocook
  • “The Gum-Suckers March” by Percy Grainger
  • “Circus Bee” by Henry Fillmore
  • “Variations on a Korean Folk Song” by John Barnes Chance

The concert will also feature two soloists.

  • Trent Shuey, percussion instructor and assistant director of bands - David Gillingham’s “Marimba Concerto”
  • Dr. Timothy Bonenfant, professor of music - Artie Shaw’s “Clarinet Concerto”
