Grand Slam Family Event
Sponsored by graduate students in ASU’s Coaching, Sport, Recreation and Fitness (CSRF) Administration program, the Grand Slam activities will begin at 4 p.m. in conjunction with the ASU Rams baseball team’s doubleheader against Eastern New Mexico University.
All the money raised from the event will go to endow a new ASU scholarship in honor of Dr. Warren “Spider” Simpson, director of the CSRF program, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Grand Slam activities will include a silent auction of various donated items, including vintage metal Coca-Cola signs, ASU autographed baseballs and a Texas Rangers facility tour, among others. Carnival games on the concourse of the baseball stadium will include corn hole, a trash can slam, Ram pong, a baseball toss, mini-Ram ‘Em games and a cake walk.
ASU students with a valid ID will receive free admission to the game. For a $10 donation, they will receive five game/popcorn vouchers and an event T-shirt, while supplies last.
