Wind Ensemble Concert

The ASU Wind Ensemble will present its first concert of the 2018-19 season on Friday, Oct. 5, in the ASU Auditorium located inside the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Ave. N.

Titled “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue,” the concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is open free to the public.

The musical program for the concert will include:

  • “Suite Gothique” by Léon Beöllmann
  • “Shine” by Julie Giroux
  • March from “Symphonic Metamorphosis” by Paul Hindemith
  • “Hymn to a Blue Hour” by John Mackey
  • “Wedding Dance” by Jaques Press

The Wind Ensemble consists of more than 45 student musicians playing flute, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, piano and multiple percussion instruments. It is directed by Dr. Jonathan Alvis, assistant professor of music and ASU director of bands.
