ASU’s University Theatre will present the Pulitzer Prize-winning dramatic comedy, “The Flick,” for its first fall 2018 production, beginning Thursday, Oct. 11, in the ASU Modular Theatre.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Oct. 11-13 and Oct. 18-20, with a Sunday matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Oct. 14. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for non-ASU students, and free for ASU students, Arts at ASU subscribers and ASU Activity Card holders. The Modular Theatre is located in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

Written by Annie Baker, “The Flick” won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and is described as a thoughtful drama with well-crafted characters, rendering lives rarely seen on the stage.

In a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts, three underpaid employees mop the floors and attend to one of the last 35-millimeter film projectors in the state. Their tiny battles and not-so-tiny heartbreaks play out in the empty aisles, becoming more gripping than the lackluster, second-run movies on screen. With keen insight and a finely tuned comic eye, “The Flick” is a hilarious and heart-rending cry for authenticity in a fast-changing world.

**For mature audiences. This production contains strong language and some sexual content.
