Trumpet Day with Paul Stephens

ASU welcomes renowned trumpeter as the featured artist for Trumpet Day!

Paul Stephens, former lead trumpet player for Maynard Ferguson’s band, will present a clinic and master class on playing brass instruments. This event is free and open to the public.

Stephens will also join the ASU Jazz Ensemble for a concert titled “A Tribute to Maynard Ferguson” on Feb. 22.

About Paul Stephens

In addition to playing with Ferguson, Stephens has performed as the lead trumpeter for numerous other well-known artists, including The Four Tops, The Temptations, Herbie Hancock, Barry Manilow, Chicago, the Boston Pops, the Hoagy Carmichael Orchestra, U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors, U.S. Air Force Band and the legendary Count Basie Orchestra. He has performed on more than 40 motion picture soundtracks and currently records the trumpet parts for all the Disney Theme Parks worldwide.
