Faculty Music Recital: Dr. Timothy Bonenfant

Wednesday, February 20, 2019 7 p.m. Free
ASU music faculty member, Dr. Timothy Bonenfant, presents his spring clarinet recital featuring clarinet classics and a song written just for him.

Dr. Bonenfant will perform the following solo pieces on the bass clarinet:

  • “Suite for Bass Clarinet” by Adolf Busch
  • “Sonate für bassklarinette” by Harald Genzmer
  • “7F” by Cara Haxo
  • “Persona IV: Miguel de Cervantes Saaverda” by Virko Baley
  • “God Bless the Child” by Eric Dolphy

“Suite for Bass Clarinet” is likely the first piece ever written for unaccompanied bass clarinet; and “Persona IV: Miguel de Cervantes Saaverda” was written specifically for Bonenfant, who premiered it in 2015 at a performance in Madrid, Spain.
