On a remote island off the icy shores of Newfoundland, the Clarke family threatens to break apart. The father, Addison, a marine biologist, desperately pursues the ocean’s most elusive creature – Architeuthis, the giant squid – while his estranged wife, Marina, freezes by degrees. Their son, Harvey, after a near-drowning, is unable to speak.

The family’s grief and isolation are bottomless. Then, inexplicably, from out of the ocean, a man named Arthur walks into their lives – and the order of the natural world starts to collapse around them. Part tragedy and part myth, “The Muckle Man” mixes science with folklore and domestic drama with high tragedy, to chilling effect.

“The Muckle Man” was written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the chief creative officer for Archie Comics and a script writer for many popular TV shows, including “Glee” (Fox), “Big Love” (HBO), “Riverdale” (CW) and “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” (Netflix).
