Concert: ASU Wind Ensemble

Join ASU’s student Wind Ensemble for its final 2019 concert featuring classic Christmas favorites with a twist.

Titled “Christmas Alterations,” the concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is open free to the public. The musical program will include:

  • “Festival Fanfare for Christmas” by John Wasson
  • “Variants on a Mediaeval Tune: ‘In dulce jubilo’” by Norman dello Joio
  • “Greensleeves” by Alfred Reed
  • “Jingle Bells” arranged by Morton Gould
  • “Minor Alterations” by David Lovrien
  • “Russian Christmas Music” by Alfred Reed
  • “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson

The Wind Ensemble comprises over 40 ASU student musicians playing various woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. It is directed by Dr. Jonathan Alvis, associate professor of music and ASU director of bands.
