Fans tuning their radios to listen to Rams and Rambelles sports have become very familiar with Jeremy Bryant, the voice of ASU athletics.

His relationship with ASU began 14 years ago, when he was hired by Foster Communications to be the play-by-play announcer for ASU’s football, basketball, baseball and softball teams.

The Rams football game at Tarleton State on Oct. 27, 2001, started Bryant’s tenure. His favorite ASU broadcasting memories include the Rams football team beating West Texas A&M, 58-53, in 2005 in one of the highest-scoring games in program history. Another was the Rams’ win at Michigan Tech in November of 2014 in the first round of the NCAA playoffs. Bryant was joined in the booth that day by ASU President Brian May as ASU rallied from a 21-point deficit to claim a dramatic victory.

In addition to sports broadcasts, Bryant has served as the master of ceremonies for ASU’s Blue & Gold Dinner and Auction, Athletics Hall of Honor Ceremony, Homecoming Parade, Athletics Banquet and Midnight Madness basketball practice.

“I am very blessed to be able to fulfill my childhood dream and be a sportscaster,” Bryant said. “I’m grateful to work with amazing people at ASU, who have become close friends.”

In recognition of his long-standing connection to ASU, the ASU Alumni Association has named Bryant its 2015 Honorary Alumnus.

And this is just the latest award for Bryant, who in July received the Jack Trussell Award as the Lone Star Conference’s broadcaster of the year for the third time.

Bryant holds a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Wayland Baptist University.
