Recreation Aid (Community Center)
Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants and event center staff in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; sets up for meetings and programs, operates equipment such as the clipper, assists event center manager/coordinator in the preparation of special functions such as commanders calls, squadron parties, and bingo. Decorates center for holidays and special programs. Keeps resale area clean and stocked with items, informs manager when stock levels are low and there is needs for purchases. Insures all posters and flyers are current, assists in maintaining a clean facility. During special catered events, may have to help with cleaning tables, pouring tea and water, etc. Advises customers/patrons on what special activities or programs that are available.
Practical knowledge of setting up rooms for special events and procedures for setting up special events. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s certificate. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier-I background investigation.
