‘Katalyst’ Set to Speak, Inspire Jan. 18-19

January 17, 2012

Angelo State University welcomes alumnus Kevin Carroll – the “Katalyst” – back to San Angelo this week for a series of speaking engagements.

Carroll is a speaker, author and agent for social change who graduated from ASU, served in the U.S. Air Force, earned a master’s degree and worked for Nike as its “Katalyst.”

Carroll will speak and sign his book, “Rules of the Rubber Ball,” at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, in the Community Room at the Stephens Central Library, 33 W. Beauregard Ave. The event is open to the public. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served, and copies of the book will be available. Reservations should be made by emailing development@angelo.edu or calling 325-942-2116.

As ASU is concluding a successful capital campaign, the Office of Development invited the nationally recognized alumnus to return as keynote speaker for a celebration event on Thursday evening. ASU is sponsoring his public appearance at the library and visits to two area high schools. Carroll will speak at the Central Freshman Campus in San Angelo and Wall High School in Wall on Wednesday. He will present each school with a “KC Play-It-Forward” ball.

Carroll is the founder of Kevin Carroll Katalyst/LLC and the author of three highly successful books published by ESPN, Disney Press and McGraw-Hill. He inspires adults and children alike to embrace their spirit of play and creativity to maximize their human potential and sustain more meaningful business and personal growth.

Carroll holds a Master of Science in health education from St. Joseph’s University, a Bachelor of Arts in speech communication with a minor in physical education from ASU and an associate degree in interpreting and translating from the Community College of the Air Force.
