School Crossing Guard/ Relief Crossing Guard
The School Crossing Guard or Relief for School Crossing Guard will control and direct children safely through crosswalks, observes traffic, maintain time sheets, maintain attendance sheets, complete tracking records, and be able to work in extreme weather conditions. Must have no convictions involving moral turpitude.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Required knowledge of: English language; Spanish helpful. Required skill in: Ability to read and understand the English language; Effectively communicate with children and adults; ability to follow oral and written instructions; and ability to perform basic math. Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs. overhead and walk unassisted over uneven terrain. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
Must be available for short notice calls to work. Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 8:15 am, and 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. This is an on call position that requires the employee to provide a reliable automobile to transport crossing guard equipment to job site and cell phone to be reached for short notice calls to duty or calls for assistance in an emergency.
