Intramural Flag Football All-Americans
January 17, 2017
Lorrie Potts of Liberty Hill and Devon Wilde of Wall both earned All-America honors as players. Potts was named an All-American in the Women’s Division for her performance as a member of ASU team Vixen. Wilde earned All-American status in the Co-Rec Division for her performance as a member of ASU team IM Legends. This is the second straight year for both Potts and Wilde to make the All-America Team.
Additionally for ASU, student officials Josh Hale of Abilene and Matthew Kirkham of Clyde qualified to officiate at the national tournament, and Kirkham was one of only 10 out of 50 officials to be named an All-American. This is also a second straight All-America designation for Kirkham.
Collectively, ASU teams performed well at the national tournament as Vixen won its pool and advanced to the semifinals before losing to a team from North Carolina A&T. Defending champions IM Legends also advanced to the semifinals before losing to a team from Mississippi State University. Men’s team Wolfpac won its pool and advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to the eventual national runner-up team from the University of South Florida.
ASU’s intramural programs are a component of ASU University Recreation (UREC).
