Education and History Majors: American Memory Site Content is Moving to a New Digital Platform
January 26, 2017
Library of Congress announces new digital platform for The George Washington Papers as it continues an ongoing modernization project and migrates collections away from the American Memory site.
In an attempt to modernize its digital content, the Library of Congress began an ongoing project to move collections from the popular American Memory site (created in 1990) to a new platform. A recent blog post from the Library of Congress announced the move of The George Washington Papers away from the American Memory site.
Educators who use primary sources and classroom materials from this site may want to follow the Library of Congress Blog to keep up-to-date on these transitions as they occur and may refer to this list of Collections that have already moved to New Presentations.
Until the move is complete, the Library plans to keep the American Memory site link in its List of Databases.
