New English Relationships with China
February 15, 2017
On Tuesday, February 14, 2017, Dr. Carolyn Gascoigne, Dean of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Laurence Musgrove, Chair of English and Modern Languages, and Dr. Won-Jae Lee, Executive Director (Asian Relations) to the Provost, met with a delegation of faculty, staff, and administration from Zhuhai College of Jilin University in Guangdong Province, China to discuss opportunities to partner on issues related to teaching English.
Led by Dr. Xu Shili, Dean of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the delegation met with Angelo State leadership to discuss a variety of mutually beneficial opportunities, including (1) sending their students to the new Angelo State University English MA TESOL program beginning this fall, (2) sending their faculty to summer faculty development workshops on teaching English, and (3) hiring our future MA TESOL graduates to teach English on their campus.
