Online Counseling Grad Programs Nationally Ranked

ASU’s program ranked No. 7 in the U.S. and was the only program at a Texas school to make the list. To be eligible, programs had to be offered at regionally accredited universities. Data for the rankings was gathered from the National Center for Education Statistics and school websites with affordability being a primary factor. Additionally, BestCounselingDegrees.net recognized ASU as having one of the nation’s “50 Best Low-Cost Online Master’s in Counseling Programs” for 2016-17.
ASU ranked No. 42 overall for its online M.Ed. in guidance and counseling program and online Master of Science (M.S.) in applied psychology program. Only two other Texas schools made the rankings: Lamar University and Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Angelo State’s M.Ed. in guidance and counseling degree requires 36 credit hours and can be completed totally online in 24 months. It prepares students to seek certification as a Texas school counselor.
Angelo State’s M.S. in applied psychology program requires 36 credit hours and can be completed totally online or in a hybrid online/classroom format. An undergraduate degree in psychology is not required for admission to the program.
