Dr. Constance Kelley is an Assistant Professor of Music and the Assistant Director of Bands at Angelo State University. Over the years, Dr. Kelly has been a great influence on numerous ASU music students.
Dr. Kelley received her B.S. in Music Education from Southwest Missouri State University, M.M. from Louisiana State University, and D.M.A. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While in Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Kelley had the opportunity to serve as interim flute professor at UNL, taught applied flute, counterpoint, and orchestration at Union College, and was a contract teacher at Concordia University in Seward, NE.
Dr. Kelley has been a featured soloist with Angelo State University, the 312th Army Band on tours through El Salvador, Nicaragua, and the Midwest, is a past winner of the Southwest Missouri State University concerto competition, and a former member of the North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.
Along with Dr. Timothy Bonenfant and Jeff Womack, Dr. Kelley is a part of the Mesquite Trio, a musical group formed in 2007 to promote chamber music and to support new compositions. The Mesquite Trio has performed in countless recitals, community engagements and masterclasses, not only locally, but also across Texas and out-of-state. The trio has helped all 3 stay sharp on their individual instruments, allowing them to enhance their classroom teaching.
Over the last couple of years, numerous music students have been impacted by Dr. Kelley.
As one proud ASU parent said, Dr. Kelley has demonstrated a “tireless, selfless, intensive devotion to the Music Program. She has been a highly motivated mentor to (students), and is a consummate professional of integrity.”
ASU is truly fortunate to have Dr. Kelley as a part of the RamFam!
