“Peggy helped us with our financial projections and business plan. She was amazing in educating us on what to expect so we could be prepared and get started.”
Mike Kelley understands the value of good audio-visual (AV) components. When he began securing top line components for his personal use, he could not find the perfect AV cabinet to hold them; so he built his own!
Once it was finished, he realized that there would be a market for such a cabinet and he wanted to design and manufacture them in San Angelo, Texas. He and his wife, Jessie, approached the Angelo State University Small Business Development Center for assistance and met with Advisor Peggy Rosser.
“Peggy helped us with our financial projections and business plan. She was amazing in educating us on what to expect so we could be prepared and get started.” Mike stated. Armed with a business plan, they were able to secure funding through a local bank.
“We attended the CEDIA Conference in September 2015 as a fact finding venture. In 2016, we had finished our cabinet and rented booth space to offer it for sale and to once again listen to attendee’s comments.” Mike said. When they returned to San Angelo, they made the recommended adjustments, tweaked the high gloss finish and launched their web site.
Aegis AV Cabinets is selling on the internet and through professional AV technicians. Currently, client is the only employee, but Mike is planning to hire some cabinet tradesmen just as soon as possible!
