“James Leavelle helped Tori and I create a business plan that would help us organize our ideas and money wisely in a manner that would guarantee our success”.

Meagan Smith is an artist.  Victoria (Tori) Trowbridge is a hair stylist.  Together they are great friends and now business partners.  The two are customers of each other and one day shared a common vision – owning their own store.  After some talk, the decided that it would be an awesome idea to start a business together where women could come in to get their hair and makeup done and shop for clothes, accessories, or décor for the home…all in one store.

Meagan and Tori had pretty much secured funding for their venture but their financier requested a business plan and they were referred to the Angelo State University – Small Business Development Center where they met with James Leavelle, Certified Business Advisor.  James led them through the business plan process, establishing their legal structure, site selection, and sales tax account setup.  Of the assistance they received, Meagan says, “James Leavelle helped Tori and I create a business plan that would help us organize our ideas and money wisely in a manner that would guarantee our success”.

With a capital investment, the ladies were able to expand their business to a store front. This expansion led to the retention of 2 jobs and created 2 additional jobs.

Economic Impact:

  • Business Expansion
  • 2 Jobs Created
  • 2 Jobs Retained
