Growing Customers One Flower at a Time

June 03, 2016

“Adriana helped me with the business plan and all questions I had!”

Vickie has always had an innate passion for vegetation and has been working with flowers since the 90’s. She developed her knowledge in floriculture at a local flower shop starting as a plant care employee and ultimately became a florist. Fortunately, this experience allowed Vickie to learn about flowers and plants as well as work in the management side of the business learning about vendors, costs, finances, etc.

Vickie had the opportunity to purchase the floral section of the business she was currently working at and after talking to a local lender she was referred to the SBDC to obtain assistance with the process of creating a business plan. Vickie and advisor Havins worked closely in the development of the business plan and its financials. “Adriana helped me with the business plan and all questions I had!” Vickie commented.

Vickie received a commercial loan to start her business. She was able to contribute to the economic growth of San Angelo, TX by creating six jobs. The advisor continues to meet with Vickie and assist her in any area she needs from employees to the expansion of the business into a new location.

Economic Impact:

  • Business Start
  • 6 Jobs Created
  • Owner’s Investment
  • Commercial Loan
