“Peggy has always encouraged me and my business.  We have discussed many business “angles” during her years
and I respect her input and ideas.”

Schumann’s Inc, women’s fashion store, is outfitting West Central Texas with both classic and trend-setting clothing.  Originating as a family-owned business, Helen Schumann, mother of current owner Paula Duwe, opened the first store in Eden Texas in 1967.  Schumann’s first expansion was to open a store in Marble Falls in 1990.  Paula’s daughter Sarah, joined the business in the fall of 2010. Together they opened a San Angelo location in April of 2016.

During the past nine years, Angelo State University Small Business Development Center’s, rural business advisor, Peggy Rosser, has been working with Paula. “Peggy has always encouraged me and my business.  We have discussed many business “angles” during her years and I respect her input and ideas.” The most recent business proposition included the opening of a location in San Angelo.

Paula received a commercial loan and also committed an owner’s investment to the launch of the San Angelo store. Schumann’s expansion into the San Angelo retail market added one full-time job and two part-time jobs to the
local economy.
