Tickets for the 7 p.m. event are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens, with students admitted free. The C.J. Davidson Conference Center is located in the ASU Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.
The plate auction, which will end after this year’s event, will allow silent-auction bids before the concert and at intermission on 15 local artists’ and celebrities’ creations. The winning bids will be announced during the concert. The concert will include performances by the ASU Wind Ensemble, Concert Chorale, Jazz Combo, Brass Choir, Percussion Ensemble, Woodwind Quintet and Music Theater Workshop.
The Jazz Combo will perform the “Mahogany Hall Stomp” by Spencer Williams and “My Funny Valentine” by Richard Rodgers. The Percussion Ensemble will contribute “La Vida Es Un Carnaval,” while the Woodwind Quintet will play a movement of Klughardt’s “Quintet, Op 70.”
ASU’s Concert Chorale will sing “A Jubilant Song” by Norman Dello Joio and follow that with Aaron Copland’s “Ching-a-Ring Chaw.” The Brass Choir will perform “Overture for a New Day” by Andrew Wolfe and “Girl With the Flaxen Hair” by Claude Debussy.
