Swim Instructor (Recreation)
Teach swimming to children ages 3 to 10 years primarily, adults and toddlers may also be taught in classes designed for those age groups. Instructor positively encourage students to explore and learn the skills taught and advance students through class levels. Instructors communicate with the parents and guardians of their students providing information on what skills are being taught how the student is progressing through the class, and when the student is ready to advance to the next level of skills. Instructors may also act as lifeguard when assigned by the facility manager. Assists in the daily operation of aquatic facilities including opening, assisting guests, providing programming information, and collecting fees. Assists in the daily operation of aquatic facilities including cleaning and following risk management procedures. Attends regularly scheduled training sessions and audits, demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to perform rescue, first aid, and emergency response skills during scheduled or random audits. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Must be at least 16 years old. Ability to perform strenuous duties for extended periods of time; work in extreme weather conditions; and lift 50 lbs. Must have current lifeguard training, first aid and CPR certification. Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred.
Shifts will vary. Must be able to work weekends and evenings. Seasonal Position.
$8.50 - $10.50/HR/DOQ
