Yazmin described the advice provided by advisor Havins as “invaluable assistance that started from the planning of the idea, development, and guidance in anything related to our business”
Being far away from home, Cd. Juarez Mexico, one of the things Yazmin and Sergio missed the most was the food and ambiance of restaurants back home. Therefore they decided to put their skills to work with Sergio’s previous experience owning and managing restaurants in Mexico and Yazmin expertise in décor and marketing to start this venture.
As soon as they found the location they contacted advisor Havins to obtain all the assistance necessary to open a restaurant in San Angelo. Advisor Havins worked closely with Yazmin and Sergio in every step of the process and assisted them in the understanding of the different requirements by the city and state to operate the business.
Once all permits got send, Yazmin worked arduously to create the atmosphere they missed from the restaurants back home, and after keeping all the details in mind, La Carbonera Chicken opened its doors to the public on May 1, 2017. The local newspaper described the experience at La Carbonera: “Owners Yazmin and Sergio Gardea have really fixed up the place and given it a trendy, modern but laid-back look that could easily fit into the Austin restaurant scene. The small restaurant can fit 40 people with inside and outside seating”
Advisor Havins, Yazmin, and Sergio continue to work very closely in the management and bookkeeping of the business to make sure that everything is covered for the success of the business. Yazmin described the advice provided by advisor Havins as “invaluable assistance that started from the planning of the idea, development, and guidance in anything related to our business”
