ASU Small Business Center to Host Government Contract Forum

The forum, titled “Doing Business with the Government,” will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21 and is open free to interested local and area business and company representatives. However, seating is limited and advance registration is required. Activities will include professional speakers, videos and exhibit booths, and lunch will be provided.
Participants will hear from purchasing agents, advisors and experts who will provide resources and information on the governmental purchasing process. Speakers will include representatives from the ASU Purchasing Office, Goodfellow AFB Business Operations, Texas Department of Transportation, City of San Angelo Purchasing Office, the SBDC and the CVCED.
Topics to be discussed will include state contracts, federal certifications, construction contracts, new state regulations, RFPs, bid matching, procurement cards, Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) certification, HUB sub-contracting, the Mentor Protégé Program, Certified Information System Vendors (CISV), the Certified Master Bidders List (CMBL), the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), the Central Contractor Register (CCR), DUNS numbers and doing business with San Angelo, ASU and Goodfellow AFB.
Exhibit booth spaces are still available for local and area businesses, companies and vendors at a cost of $50 per space. Forum sponsorships are also available at the $500 and $250 levels.
