Prof. Lynch Publishes New Book
July 11, 2018
Prof. Lynch has just published her second book, Medieval Pedagogical Writings: An Epitome. Intended as both a scholarly and general introduction, it examines how major intellectuals in the Middle Ages viewed education, especially elementary education. What was its purpose? What practices best achieved the intended aims? This short monograph traces the central themes that ran through literature on education, from its fixation on moral instruction to recommendations on playtime and on punishment. Published with Kismet Press, a non-profit social enterprise, it is available for open access on their website as well as in print and as an e-book.
