Third certificate offered by Department of Computer Science

August 29, 2018

Starting in fall 2018, we offer a new certificate in Cybersecurity Technologies.

The new certificate in Cybersecurity Technologies joins our existing certificates in Computer Game Development and in Web and Mobile Development.  Students can earn any certificate (even more than one!) whether or not they also complete a degree.  For the new certificate, three courses are required:

  • CS 3310: Principles of Unix
  • CS 4314: Computer Networking
  • CS 4320: Introduction to Computer and Network Security

In addition, one of these four courses must be completed:

  • BOR 3307: Introduction to Cybersecurity
  • BOR 3309: Information Security and Protection
  • BOR 4303: Digital Footprints
  • CS 4340: Offensive Security Techniques

A grade of C or better is required in each course.  The department hopes to offer CS 4340 for the first time in spring 2019.  For more information, contact Dr. Lopa Roychoudhuri (lroychoudhuri@angelo.edu).
