DEGREES AWARDED: Bachelor of Business Administration Management

Please give us a little bit of your background, your hobbies, what you like to do you in your spare time, etc.
I began my career in Corporate America with my first job with American Airline from 1989 to 1994; I worked in Accounts Receivables from October 1988 to April 1994 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I then worked as a senior analyst/national support at Verizon Wireline. Some of my hobbies include gardening, cooking, traveling and most memorable vacation, Mykonos Greece an island in the Cyclades, Greece. If an opportunity ever presented itself, I would live there. Love to entertain family and friends, I continue gardening and tinkering around the house.

What is your current occupation?
Currently semi-retired and looking forward to being a docent for Grand Prairie Paws with my mini Austrian Shepherd, Bella. Often travel to Stillwater Oklahoma to visit family and back to San Angelo to see mother and brother.

In what ways did ASU help you to achieve your goals after graduation?
ASU offered a better faculty-student ratio that helped me connect with faculty. Complete access to faculty during while at ASU gave me the opportunity to reach out and explore different disciplines. Although, back in the 80’s was a different time without the modern technology of today; makes me appreciate the quieter time and knowing my classmates, faculty, and staff of ASU.

What skills did you take away from ASU?
Survival! To have the ability to get through college and prepare me for a productive life to gain networking skills that I learned can transfer fairly easily from one industry to another maneuverer from one career to another and persevere.
Were there any faculty or staff that made a difference for you during your time at ASU?
Bill Richardson business faculty and Economics 84-88 taught me the reality of networking and luck. History professor, Dr. Perry, taught me the importance of being punctual for class so that I do not have to sit in the front. Professor Kurt Burger, from accounting, made it interesting to learn.

What is one of your fondest memories of ASU?
Going to the women’s high-rise and watching young and the restless, a soap opera, before lunch with fellow classmates.

Can you please provide a quote about your experience at ASU/what ASU means to you?
I believe that ASU is a hidden gem, that offers a first-rate education. Students were given the opportunity to personally know their professors and go them as a primary source. Students could always schedule appointments directly with professors instead of a TA or GA.
