November Pride of ASU: Erica Mejia
October 11, 2018
How did you learn about ASU?
ASU is very well known within my area. Most students apply and go to ASU because it is affordable.
Why did you want to attend ASU?
One of my high school teachers convinced me to go to college. She helped me apply to schools and I felt that ASU was in my best interest. It was close to home and it was affordable, also I knew that a few of my high school classmates would be attending ASU.
What is your favorite thing about ASU?
I honestly love that I can actually contact my professors. The professors here go out of their way to help every student succeed in their education.
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy painting and listening to music. I love going on nature walks and I am currently learning Korean.
Do you work on campus? If so, where and what are your responsibilities?
I am currently the social work student intern for RAM FAM CONNECTION. The Ram Fam aids families to locate all the necessary resources that may help students transition into college successfully.
What is one piece of advice you would give to help college students succeed?
Do not be afraid to ask for help or guidance. Do not let failure stop you from reaching your ultimate goal. Take advantage of every day. Learn from your past and shape your future. Most importantly, always believe in yourself.
