Dr. Brian J. MayDr. Brian J. May“With the continued growth of our student body,” said ASU President Brian J. May, “it is imperative that we provide not only adequate residence hall space, but that we provide the modern facilities and amenities that our students expect and deserve. To receive such a substantial gift to help us accomplish those goals is a tremendous and welcome bonus, and the entire Ram Family is extremely thankful to the Seibel Foundation.”

Construction of the new G-Wing of Centennial Village was completed just prior to this fall semester, adding 160 beds to the complex and bringing the total number of beds to 680. Centennial Village originally opened in 2008.

The Seibel Commons houses various gathering spaces for all the student residents of the Centennial Village complex. Its amenities include gaming tables, a computer lab, large-screen TVs, the complex laundry room and the complex Help Desk.

The Abe and Annie Seibel Foundation in Galveston provides interest-free loans to qualified Texas residents attending Texas colleges and universities. It also designates a portion of its available funds each year to support the construction of residence halls and student centers at Texas colleges and universities.
