Taking the Leadership Journey!
April 08, 2019
Building a strong foundation of leadership skills is not just for the business owner or the managers, it is for every team member. By improving the leadership skills of each member of the team, you are working to facilitate a healthier company environment. This can lead to many positives for your business such as reduced turnover and more productivity from the individuals.
There are many ways to gain insight into leadership development. Some may have favorite authors or mentors they look to, others may learn from examples in the workplace. Here at the SBDC, we thought we might be able to help you out by hosting a couple of outstanding leadership events to help you excel on your leadership journey.
The Angelo State University Small Business Development Center is excited to host two leadership focused training events in the month of May. The first is our annual Leadercast event on May 10th. With the help from our partners and sponsors, we will participate as a host site in a live broadcast presentation that streams live from Atlanta Georgia and is broadcast to many host sites around the world including San Angelo. Leadercast Live will bring together experts in leadership and organizational health to help attendees master the art and science of developing and leading healthy teams. The speakers for this event include; Juliet Funt -CEO, WhiteSpace at Work, Ginger Hardage-Founder, Unstoppable Cultures, Dr. Caroline Leaf -Communication Pathologist and Cognitive Neuroscientist, Marcus Samuelsson- Award-Winning Chef, Restaurateur, Author and TV Personality, Patrick Lencioni -Founder, The Table Group, Craig Springer- Executive Director, Alpha USA, and Andy Stanley- Leadership Author and Communicator,
The SBDC hosts this event every year to provide a world-class training opportunity for our community members that is low cost. By participating in the simulcast you are able to save on professional development costs and still provide a unique learning experience for yourself and your team.
The SBDC will also be hosting a four-part leadership training series lead by Becky Benes, transformational speaker, and authentic leadership specialist beginning May 15th. This program is an opportunity to build on your current leadership skills to improve yourself and others through intentional and purposeful leadership. Each part of the series uncovers one of the four pillars of authentic leadership and provides a self-practice to help you make actionable changes to enhance your leadership skills.
If you are ready to continue your journey of leadership development and self-improvement then we here to assist you!
