Melanie Baumgartner is a nephrologist RN, an area of medicine that specializes in kidney dialysis. After working in a local clinic, she decided in 2007 to start her own business providing kidney dialysis to area patients after winning first place in the San Angelo Business Plan Competition the previous year.
Since then she has steadily grown Angelo Kidney Connection into a thriving business. In recent years, Melanie reconnected with the SBDC and Director Erickson to help map out an expansion plan, which would include a new building, entry into the home dialysis market, and opening with partnerships and other clinics in various cities in Texas. Melanie continues to visit with Director Erickson on many areas of her business including financial analysis.
