Counseling Services have resources available to all students.

September 09, 2019

Dear Parents,

Many parents are both excited and terrified when their children go to college.  We wanted to let you know of the resources we have available to you as well as remind you of the resources available to your student.

Our website has many resources designed with families in mind to help you navigate the challenges of this new phase in your life.  If you are concerned about the well-being of your student please feel free to reach out to us at 325-942-2371 or fill out an incident report.

Last year Counseling Services saw over 600 students for individual and group counseling.  Student concerns ranged from homesickness to anxiety to depression to academic distress to suicidal ideation.  There is really no issue that is too small or big for us to help with.  Your student has two options to make an initial appointment.  Students may come in during our intake times between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays or call ahead to reserve an appointment at 325-942-2371.

Counseling Services also provides a number of programs each semester to educate, train, and prevent mental health issues from turning into a crisis.  For a calendar of fall event please see the right side of this page.

If your student would like support outside of Counseling Services we also offer the ASU Crisis HelpLine and a life skill building app called Therapy Assistance Online.  Both are free and anonymous.

We hope both you and your student have an excellent 2019-2020 academic year.
